We believe that God is preparing an Associate Pastor for FIBC who is a servant leader with a heart for the international Church, and whose life and ministry are in every respect built upon Jesus Christ.
Position Summary
The Associate Pastor, in partnership with the Lead Pastor, leads the congregation in carrying out God’s mission by helping to establish and implement a vision for the spiritual growth of the people of FIBC and for reaching the unreached in our community. He is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of church life at FIBC, working closely with the leadership of the church to ensure that the church’s ministries and activities faithfully advance its mission and vision.
Qualifications and Requirements
A godly servant who meets the requirements of an elder as described in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5.
A deep, growing, and prayerful relationship with God, characterized by a sincere love for Christ and His Church.
A firm commitment to the authority, sufficiency, inerrancy, and infallibility of Scripture as the Word of God.
Strong teaching and communication skills, with a solid foundation in Christian doctrine and the ability to communicate biblical truth clearly and faithfully.
Ability to lead, equip, and delegate to others in order to accomplish the broader mission and goals of the church.
Ability to bring together people from diverse cultural backgrounds to accomplish ministry goals and foster unity in the church.
Ability to perform administrative duties.
Proficiency in speaking and writing in the English language. Preferably some pastoral experience or equivalent ministry experience.
Responsibilities
Regularly preach (once or twice per month)
Together with the Lead Pastor providing spiritual oversight of the congregation and ministries; praying and planning together under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ
Working with other staff including the Lead Pastor and the Administrative Assistant
Working with the Church Council, as together you serve the local church and community
Spiritually lead and pastorally care for the congregation, including but not limited to, performing baptisms, weddings, funerals, hospital visits, evangelism, and church discipline
Build and grow the spiritual formation ministries of the church
Ensure that the ministries of the church are running effectively
Mobilize the congregation in ministering to the community through community service and outreach.
